8th Grade Point System The 8th grade class is an exciting year to learn, explore, and prepare for high school. The class is offered many valuable experiences this year, such as the class trip and graduation luncheon. Students will be celebrated for positive academic and behavioral choices, and will maintain points for following school expectations. To help students build responsibility and take ownership for their actions, when students choose not to follow school expectations, they can lose of privileges to attend special events.
The valedictorian and salutatorian will be chosen based on grades earned in 6th, 7th and 8th grade at Lenart. Students must maintain an average of 70% or higher in reading and math and a 60% average in all other subjects in order to participate in the graduation ceremony and the awards luncheon. In order to have a speaking role at graduation or the awards ceremony, the student must not have any D's or F's on their report card or their 4th quarter progress report.
